Benefit Assistant

PBS is seeking a full time, energetic, and detailed-oriented Benefit Assistant for the PBS River Chase office in Hoover, Alabama.

The Benefit Assistant is responsible for various administrative duties to support the administration of benefit plans for PBS clients. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of insurance carrier invoices
  • Processing insurance carrier payments
  • Assisting with 401(k) deferral submissions
  • Responding to client and employee requests and issues
  • Assisting with new employee enrollments and annual open enrollment activities
  • Updating client databases with benefit changes
  • Processing COBRA notifications

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years administrative experience working with employer group insurance plans and 401(k) plan administration.
  • Previous experience in data entry in HRIS and ability to adapt for data entry to various benefits software computer platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with a Professional Employment Organization (PEO) is a plus.
